Can a homeschool parent and work at home?
You bet. But one might ask: "Why should they?"
First something about me.
I am a mid-40's husband of 18 years. We have eight (not a typo) children that we homeschool and as done since day one. They range in ages 4-16. The question usually asked at this point is whether we are Mormon or Catholic. Well, we do. We are simply passionate Protestants. And yes, we know whatit causes. And just like you. Another frequently asked question of my wife, "You're a saint, as you work from home and school at home?" Certainly, there must be an organization and a necessary part of life is work-at-home/homeschool.
We work from home, running a small business and we fit pretty well. We also have school and at home were part of the homeschool community for nearly 13 years. But you can do things and is a bit 'risky if you try to mix homeschool and work onHome Business.
Try to talk with a customer on the phone and asked for 16 years the strings of an old '70s tune in Boston, or better yet, playing in the background! Or an exchange of four years is an interesting insect we found evidence (BTW, this is part of studies of school children at home …). It can be both pleasures and distractions. It is possible and provide some clear limits.
It 'been said that fences make good neighbors. Is obviouslysaid that firearms are a good company, but back to the fences and borders. I think that is essential if we work at home, some definition between work and private life, and the more so if the school home. The limits between which we work and where we live.
A friend and business associate of mine who works at home, Alan Masters, said: "Although your client may say they do not understand, a businessman really wants to have a phone conversationwith someone whose child plays in the background. This typical scenario will lead to ask your customers if you truly eighth what they say, where is clearly family issues at the time same.
"The capacity of a port and limit the sounds of life at home is much more professional sound to give your business. On the other hand, allows a door or a barrier, you walk away from work, when it is time to re-enter family life withouttortured on the stack or the reference desk of your computer screen. "
Very well said. And he knows what he's doing for years. Barriers or boundaries, and if the home school work at home, we have established a kind of system to distinguish between the two.
This is just scratching the surface. There is also the time when family and economic reasons.
Now that we found out that we homeschool and work at home, look at why.
Thisany number of reasons why someone might choose this type of arrangement, so I will not go into them all. But I want some reason, I think, would be a common denominator of all should go.
If we choose to home school, we make a great personal commitment. Our worldview is such that it is our duty to online From the child so he should, and when he is old, will not turn from it. "(Proverbs 22:6) Deuteronomy 6:07 says these things, we must"Impress upon your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk down the street when you lie down and when you rise."
So, for us and our family, our decision to homeschool, to run for the lack of a better term, and may sound cliché, a decision based on faith. Let us take all the decisions we make in this way.
There are many other reasons, such as the quality of education your children receive at home school against school, there is noThe medicines sold at home, no bands, no scandals with the teacher inappropriate relationships between students, negative socialization, etc. But these are side issues for us. We feel called to do so.
Why, then complicated home from school with a job in-house business?
Well, I like the ride! The real reasons are a little 'less, but.
For some, outsourcing, work-at-home, they were tired of political office, perhaps their work (s) have been (I'm not saving thatthis article), were diminished in the restructuring of enterprises or were simply more relaxed when the company dissolved. The Work-at-home option can be very interesting if you have more control and input into its future.
For others it may be just a way to integrate what is usually a family home school, a single source of income to be. Admittedly, it is difficult to homeschool and live on one income now, with all the realities of today's economy. A Work-at-home business cando much to come not only to make ends meet, but the money away for unexpected hitting (they are really so unexpected?) expenses, college and retirement, to name a few.
There are also benefits of the tax code. Well, I'm not a CPA or a tax lawyer, but we know that the benefits are the owner of a business work-at-home and many of the IRS, it seems to me, is very friendly to us.
A Work-at-home business has no dress code. You can add a lot of money for dry cleaning, foodout, you name it. The same is true for children. Like most of our school at home, I (my wife) and the dress code does not include expensive clothing like A & F, Hollister (Why call a traffic light clothing line after a cow-town in the Central Valley in California? ) OR $ 150 Nike, as just to impress their friends. For a family of our size, well, let's say we save a lot.
I read somewhere once that you delete everything that a woman brings home under $ 2.00 per hourtaking into account all that is necessary to Their job a year part-time job making $ 16ka. I do not know about you, but for all the trouble of a business work-at-home much more sense.
At school, home and work can be daunting to look at home. It requires organization and a real commitment. But for the extra time left in the day for your family, it's worth it and the rewards are great. Ask the children.
If the school you at home, a business work-at-home was just fine. Something you should think fit, at least. There are many out there, it's just a matter of finding the best one for your family. Just make sure that those who choose to offer much support. Because if you homeschool, you can not all the time even to learn everything yourself.
What should I look? A Low-Cost-of-entry must be a problem. Another possibility would be a turnkey offering easily accessible, with a real plan for how to work with. And, of course, the product (s) or service demand and provides a real value. This is what we have and it works for us.
Why homeschool and work at home? Because a variety of opportunities offered to go hand in hand. It is a home school is about education and Work-at-home business more work. Our children deserve our best when it comes to both us and teaching them the skills and capabilities that make the difference in the world.
